Scanbond backing compound is an epoxy-based casting compound for backing in crushers for extremely heavy crushing, including Sandvik Hydrocone , Metso HP and Thyssen Krupp Kubria. With a comparatively high compressive strength and impact resistance, Scanbond absorbs energy and reduces vibration. Scanbond has a new innovative chemical composition that provides a number of benefits:

Scanbond’s low viscosity and less thickening at the bottom make both mixing and pouring faster. The material flows easily behind the mantle, reducing both working time and the risk of air pockets. Improved safety and stability with Scanbond
Scanbond is an upgraded Backing compound that replaces traditional products. The product uses Benzyl Alcohol instead of flammable solvents and a modern hardener with a higher molecular weight, which provides both safer handling and more stable curing at lower temperatures.
Scanbond is supplied as standard in stable 10l cans (component A) and hardener (component B) in plastic bottles. The chemical components of the product are supplied by the Nordic chemical industry and its composition and function are well documented in technical and safety data sheets.

Are there special requirements for the handling of Scanbond?
Scanbond can be stored, mixed and used just like any other casting compound, no other tools, personal safety equipment or storage facilities are required. Especially at low temperatures, Scanbond is easier to use as it flows more easily at low temperatures.
